Christie is passionate about the ever-evolving nature of philanthropy and how nonprofits bring transformational change to the people they serve. She recognizes that fundraising is not static; new needs arise in the community and donors bring with them unique passions and changing interests. Christie has worked in leadership roles for nonprofits across multiple sectors and knows, first-hand, how to meaningfully bridge nonprofit, mission-driven work and donor affinities. Christie recognizes the paramount importance of supporting adolescents and young adults in their cancer treatment journey. These individuals face unique challenges that extend beyond medical care, including emotional and social aspects that significantly impact their well-being. By championing initiatives tailored to their needs, the AYA Cancer Foundation SA not only enhances the quality of their medical care but also fosters a supportive community that empowers them to navigate the complexities of cancer with resilience and hope. Christie is committed to these young warriors to ensure that they receive comprehensive support, enabling them to emerge from their battles stronger and more resilient than ever. She is honored and humbled to serve as a board member to advocate for these individuals and their families.

Christie joined CCS Fundraising in 2019 after over a decade of experience in nonprofit fundraising and programming. In her role at CCS, Christie has led a number of campaigns, campaign planning studies and capacity building projects. Christie brings over a decade of grant writing and nonprofit fundraising experience with her to CCS. Her experience includes executive leadership in an ecumenical after school program and development roles in museums, arts organizations, and higher education. She is a data-driven researcher, and life-long learner, a tenacious and engaged businesswoman, and a born collaborator.

Before discovering her passion for fundraising, Christie spent nearly eight years living and working in Mexico and Belize as a professional archaeologist, utilizing her strengths in grant and technical writing and project management. Many of her excavation reports are published in peer-reviewed journals, both in the United States and in Latin America. Christie lives in San Antonio, Texas with her husband and two rescue dogs. She loves traveling, riding her bicycle, playing soccer and cheering for the Tottenham Hotspurs and the New Orleans Saints.
